Is Project Execution A Problem?

Its a paradoxical question. Project execution has problems & issues but execution itself is not an issue. When issues are approaching inside a regular frequency, yes you’ll find problems. But there’ll always be methods & solutions available.

Lets discuss root causes. Can it be an execution problem really or possibly a scenario of poor planning.

If it’s a Sources supply problem – will be a Resource Management Plan prepared & approved?

If it’s a low cost crunch – was the job budget prepared & approved against a documented Scope & Schedule? Most considerably, were the Scope, Schedule & Cost baselines(the outputs after Risk Management) prepared & approved.

Exist Communications & Stakeholder Management Plans prepared & “bought into” by all stakeholders?

What about Procurement? Exist set processes & procedures to permit seamless procurement of merchandise & services? What’s the Procurement management Plan?

Monitoring&Controlling measures project parameters to supply feedback for the project manager on various metrics. Including the project manager would(& should) get data about actual cost, estimate to complete, estimate at completion, variance at completion around the periodic basis, to think about preventive/corrective steps quickly.

Once the actual cost, for instance, rises within the planned value then how you get it? Can a genuine cause analysis be performed to show the issue(as being a 5whys analysis)? Can it be an idea overrun this is actually the cause? They’ve overlooked related risks through which situation a completely new risk analysis should be performed?

Risks analysis must be carried out in a normal frequency with the project duration. Risks management gives control towards the work manager when compared to work being responsible for the job manager, the problem at occasions

Communication is important as already stated & a quick response is essentially of project control! What’s the reporting system whereby the job manager & the Management get information preferably each day on status in the day’s progress? What activities were planned throughout the day under each trade for each work front? Were possible impediments identified & responses on their behalf planned?

What planned activities got done? Which of them were not completed & exactly why thereof? The job may need micro-planning within the daily activity level. Are training learned on incomplete activities applied the very next day?
